The office holiday party invitation has three jobs: make people want to come, tell them everything they need, and get replies early enough for the venue. Here’s wording for an in-person party, a lunch, a virtual party and a hybrid one, written to include everyone whatever they celebrate.

What to include

  1. Who’s invited: the team, the whole company, partners, contractors, remote staff.
  2. When and where, with an end time if it’s during work.

In-person party

  1. You’re invited to the end-of-year party! Friday 11 December from 6pm at The Lantern. Partners welcome. Please reply by 1 December.
  2. Join us to celebrate a great year: dinner, drinks and dancing on Friday 11 December, 7pm, The Old Mill.
  3. Our holiday party is on Thursday 10 December from 5pm in the office. Food, drinks and the annual quiz.
  4. The team party is back! Saturday 12 December at 7pm. Dress up a little, or a lot.
  5. Thank you for this year. Please join us for dinner on Friday 11 December at 7:30.

Lunch

  1. Holiday lunch for the team, Wednesday 16 December at 12:30, at Lucia’s. Please tell us about any dietary needs.
  2. End-of-year lunch on us. Friday at 1pm. The afternoon is off.

Virtual

  1. Our virtual holiday party is on Friday at 4pm. Grab a drink and join the call; games and a few surprises.
  2. Wherever you are, join us online for the end-of-year party on Thursday at 5pm UK / 12pm New York.
  3. We’re sending everyone a snack box! Open it together on our holiday call, Friday at 4pm.

Hybrid

  1. Join us in the office or online for the end-of-year party, Friday from 4pm. Let us know which when you reply.
  2. Party in London, Lisbon and on video: the end-of-year celebration is Friday at 5pm local time.

Inclusive

  1. Whatever you celebrate, join us to mark the end of the year together.
  2. A celebration of the year we’ve had, and the people we had it with.

Fun

  1. The holiday party: where the Q4 numbers are not discussed. Friday from 6.
  2. Ugly jumper optional, strongly encouraged. Thursday at 5pm.
  3. Secret Santa reveal at 6pm. Party continues until someone wins the quiz.
  4. Ho ho hold the date: Friday 11 December.

Save the date

  1. Save the date: our end-of-year party is Friday 11 December. Invitation to follow.

Plus-ones

  1. Partners and plus-ones are welcome.
  2. This one’s for the team only; partners will be invited to the summer party.
